Getting there & parking for the Stolberger Schloss-Lauf

To ensure you arrive at the start line feeling relaxed, you’ll find all the key information you need here on how to get to the 2026 Stolberger Schloss-Lauf. The start and finish area is located at Stolberg Castle in Stolberg in the Harz region.

Please plan your journey well in advance: on the day of the event, there will be designated parking areas, major road closures and restrictions on public transport. Closures and delays are particularly likely around Waschberg, Rittergasse, Niedergasse, Thyratal and the route between Rottleberode and Stolberg.

Coming from Rottleberode:

  • P1 Thyragrotte
  • P2 Railway station

From the direction of Breitenstein / Schwenda:

  • P3 Kaltes Tal

Note: P4 Waldfrieden is reserved for organisers and volunteers.

Road closures around the Stolberger Schloss-Lauf

In Stolberg, Waschberg, Rittergasse, Niedergasse and Thyratal will be closed from 11:00 am.
Between Rottleberode and Stolberg, the road will be impassable from the sewage treatment works at the latest (half marathon). In Rottleberode, Stolberger Straße and Nordhäuser Straße will be closed at times – possible delays between 11:30 and 13:30. Recommendation: take the diversion via Schwenda.

Public transport information regarding the Stolberger Schloss-Lauf

The VGS-450 bus will not serve Stolberg between 10.50 am and 3.00 pm.

Directions to the start and finish area at Stolberg Castle

The start and finish area for the Stolberger Schloss-Lauf is located at Stolberg Castle. You can reach the event area on foot from the designated car parks. Please follow the on-site signage and the instructions of the organising team.

As there will be road closures on the day of the event, we recommend arriving early. This will give you plenty of time to make your way to the castle, collect your race pack and warm up before the run.
