Running for a good cause in the Southern Harz
Charity at the Stolberg Castle Run
At theStolberg Castle Run, every kilometre counts double: you’re running for yourself – and for the region at the same time. By taking part, you automatically support regional projects in and around Stolberg in the Harz Mountains.
Depending on the race, between 5 and 10 euros of your entry fee goes directly into the charity pot. You don’t need to book anything extra or make an additional donation – your contribution to a good cause is included right from the start.
The charity project for 2026 has already been decided: the funds raised will go to the municipality of Südharz and will be used to create new covered seating areas, known as ‘Hirschraufen’. These are to be built in both Stolberg and Rottleberode and will serve as sheltered rest areas for locals, visitors, walkers and hikers in future.
In this way, the Stolberg Castle Run remains true to its original concept: part of the support benefits Stolberg, part Rottleberode – and together they create tangible added value for the region.
